In 2002 my wife found an article on "How to carve a bear" with the step by step process detailed out. Although my first carving looked like a bear/wolf/dog, I enjoyed the creative process and wanted to do more. What Do You Like Most About Your Chosen Profession?: Being able to create from my imagination. You can create what's in your mind, into life size carvings. Where Do You Get Your Inspiration From?: I'm inspired by everything around me. Living in the Santa Cruz Mountains gives me a unique perspective on nature and wildlife. I'm also inspired by other artists and their creations. How is your business sustainable?: I do my best to use recycled wood and wood that otherwise would have been discarded. I also comb the local beaches for driftwood. Whenever possible I use an electric chainsaw on my studio projects. |
